Why we say 'Happy New Year'?

Why we say 'Happy New Year'?: When the clock strikes 12:00 in the night of 31st December, we are all waiting to shower our loved ones with the most important and appropriate wish of the day and that is 'Happy New Year'. Whoever is physically present there gets hugs and kisses or handshakes along with this greeting from us. We don't waste anytime and quickly make sure that we've wished the maximum number of people in our life. We even wish our domestic helps(or reciprocate if they wish us first) a happy new year. Then we move on to our phone address book and select people who are our relatives, business associates, even not so close ones also, to make sure we wish them 'Happy New Year'. This phenomenon keeps on going starting strongly from 1st January and then slowly fading away in a few days, only to be reactivated at the beginning of the next 'new' year. What is 'Happy New Year '?Actually this is a wish, a blessing from us to others that their new year is filled with happiness. This wish comes from our heart and if we all notice, we ourselves feel very good when we say 'Happy New Year' to anyone. As humans, we always get happiness when we 'wish' or 'bless' others knowing deep inside our heart that we've done something good. The blessings could be any related to the well being of the other person. Then why wait only for this occasion to bless others? Why can't we do this everyday or for that matter...all the time? What does this cost us? A few words of blessings from us can give lot of strength or happiness to others.Let this be a new year resolution for all of us ... to always 'bless' others everyday as everyday is a new day, a new opportunity, a new challenge, a new occasion and a new celebration. Always remember that our blessings to others eventually come back to us ... multiplied!
